Purchasing books with a T.E.A.C.H. scholarship
Students nationwide have continued to voice growing concerns about the rising costs of textbooks, and how that cost alone presents a barrier to their pursuit of education. The T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® National Technical Assistance and Quality Assurance Center has reached out to publishing companies to seek discounts on purchases of textbooks and college materials to in turn lower the cost of college education for T.E.A.C.H. recipients in 22 states and the District of Columbia.
The T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® DC scholarship program has agreed to partner with a variety of publishers in an effort to help students better afford book purchases. With the discounts that are offered, early childhood program students can actually save money on early childhood textbooks and other publication purchases!
Discounts are available for the fall semester (and in some cases beyond) from the companies listed below. All students receiving T.E.A.C.H. scholarships are eligible for discounts during and after their contract has been completed as well as non-T.E.A.C.H. students if the discount is not exclusive to T.E.A.C.H. recipients. Web links and discount codes are provided below to share with your students.
Important Note:Your college may apply book purchasing restrictions to students who are financial aid recipients. When applicable, financial aid and other policies that are enforced by your college may preclude students from purchasing from other vendors.
Please note: You MUST attach your receipt/confirmation page from the websiteto your "Form B" to be reimbursed. The "Form B" is what you complete and return to T.E.A.C.H. to ensure that you have purchased allowable books for your ECE classes and this form is what you will need to receive reimbursement for your purchased books. Additionally, you must attach a copy of your current class schedule to the Form B when you submit it.
** If you find your required classroom textbooks someplace else for a cheaper cost than the price that is listed on the Cengage webpage, you may purchase your book(s) from that other vendor. If this is the case, you will need to submit all the necessary document for book reimbursement listed below**
