T.E.A.C.H. D.C. Early Childhood® Scholarship Program Application Process

Step #1: Get approved to participate from your sponsoring center director or family childcare homeowner

Speak with your center director or family childcare homeowner to determine if they are willing to fully invest in the T.E.A.C.H. D.C. Early Childhood® Scholarship Program as a sponsor. In order to qualify as a sponsoring center or family childcare home, they must agree to pay 5% of your tuition, provide between one to three hours per week of release time during the semesters you attend class, and award you a 2% raise or a $300 bonus upon your successful completion of each annual contract. If your sponsor consents, you must agree to successfully complete your classes while maintaining your employment and staying at your current place of employment for another year immediately following the completion of your contract.

Step #2: Apply to one of the T.E.A.C.H. D.C. Early Childhood® Scholarship Program's partner colleges or universities.

To apply for a T.E.A.C.H. D.C. Early Childhood® Scholarship, you must select one of our partner institutions and complete their application. T.E.A.C.H. D.C. does not reimburse scholarship recipients for application or admission fees.

Following your admission into one of our T.E.A.C.H. D.C. partner institutions, retain your college acceptance letter for your records and submission to the T.E.A.C.H. D.C. program.

Step #3: Apply to the T.E.A.C.H. D.C. Early Childhood® Scholarship Program.

Once you have received a college acceptance letter from a T.E.A.C.H. D.C. partner institution, you will need to download a T.E.A.C.H. D.C. application at www.teach.nbcdi.org with all supplementary materials attached, including your college acceptance letter and most recent pay stub.

Step #4: Await Confirmation into T.E.A.C.H. D.C. Early Childhood® Scholarship Program.

It takes approximately four to six weeks for the T.E.A.C.H. D.C. Early Childhood® Scholarship Program to process your application and determine your eligibility as a prospective scholarship recipient. While you are awaiting a decision, you may wish to research the Early Childhood Education program you have been admitted into through our scholarship program, including courses that may interest you. T.E.A.C.H. D.C. only approves coursework in Early Childhood Education, Special Early Childhood Education, Child Development, and Human Development. If you need assistance with selecting your courses, please contact your college’s academic advisor of Early Childhood Education.

Step #5: Await your award letter from T.E.A.C.H. D.C. Early Childhood® Scholarship Program.

If your T.E.A.C.H. D.C. application is approved, you will receive an acceptance package from the T.E.A.C.H. D.C. Early Childhood® Scholarship Program. This acceptance package will include your annual contract, scholarship award details, commonly submitted form templates, and guidance regarding next steps as a new T.E.A.C.H. D.C. scholarship recipient.
